City Arts 2 - Affordable Housing for Artists

In 2009, Jubilee Baltimore partnered with Homes for America and TRF Development Partners to develop City Arts which provides 69 units of affordable housing for artists. At that time, Greenmount West was more than 56% vacant and contained more than 300 artists living in less than ideal conditions.  City Arts addressed the need for affordable housing for artists.  City Arts leased up at a rate of 1.5 apartments per day and has had an extensive waiting list since it opened.

Recognizing the demand for affordable housing for artists, Jubilee Baltimore partnered with Homes for America and TRF Development Partners to develop an additional City Arts building.  Located one block north of City Arts, City Arts 2 provides 60 units of affordable housing for artists on a lot that had been vacant for years.  The building features a shared dance studio, a multi-purpose co-working space, a fitness center, a lounge, and a management office.
